Toddlers Program
Toddler Program care is for children as young as 18 months to 2.5 years old. We provide our Toddlers with the best possible environment to nourish their curious, energetic and inquisitive minds to reach their full potential.
We start with a safe environment
Children learn best in a safe environment that provides opportunities for children to explore at
their own pace while stimulating them and encouraging them to build their independence. Our environment provides opportunities for social interaction, self-expression, independence, development of language as well as fine and gross motor skills.
Qualified educators
We trust that children learn best in comforting and familiar environments while playing. Our qualified educators provide a warm and welcoming environment where enriching activities and experiences are planned for toddlers.
Designing and implementing a program that inspires the love of learning, exploration and curiosity. Our planned experiences and learning objectives are reflective of Ontario's Pedagogy; How Does Learning Happen? and The ELECT document ,Early Learning for Every Child Today. Our educators ensure that our little ones receive the support they need to achieve their individual milestones in all developmental domains including Social, Emotional, Communication, Cognitive and Physical.
We take daily observations in order to ensure that our activities are enriching while also up-to-date with the interests of the children. Transitioning from infants to early-learners , self-directed play becomes an important theme in this program; learning outcomes include language development, socialization, self-help and fine motor skills.
Our classroom is equipped with developmentally appropriate materials and manipulatives to stimulate and encourage growth in all aspects of learning. Group activities along with enhanced social and cognitive skills are the main focus of this program. Nurturing educators support the child while they are exploring, whether it’s through finger painting, playing with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time.
Language enriched environment
Language development is promoted in a variety of ways such as labeling the surrounding environment, repetition of emerging vocabulary, in addition to other personalized goals. All of this contributes to toddlers becoming confident learners. Our toddlers are presented with opportunities to engage in experiences that promote exploration using all of their senses. Art is an integral part of our program, as it serves as an outlet of personal expression and communication.
Sense of self and well-being
Belonging and well- being is a critical part of development in the early years. With guidance from our educators, independence is highly encouraged during meal time and dressing. Our toddlers develop significant skills as they perform these daily tasks such as feeding themselves and putting on their jackets. As signs of readiness emerge, our educators guide our toddlers on the journey of toilet training, in partnership with families at home.
Activities which encourage children’s innate inquisitiveness and work to help entice development are made easily accessible to children. Along with everyday observation, daily verbal communication between educators and parents is made a priority to ensure the Centre is providing each and every child with the quality care we promise. Our families are always encouraged to share any information about their child at drop off in order to create a seamless home to daycare transition.
