Kindergarten Program
The Aurora Early Learning Centre Kindergarten Program is an enriched JK and SK Program offering a low teacher/student ratio, from 3.5 to 5 years of age.
The program offers many opportunities for developing the social and independence skills, essential to entering first grade with confidence, as well as appropriate skill levels in all learning subjects. Our focus is on foundational skills in beginning reading, writing and math while ensuring continued development of the whole child, socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.
Curriculum Focus
Our Kindergarten program is based on the 4 frames of the kindergarten curriculum as outlined in the Ontario Ministry of Education, consisting of Belonging and Contributing, Self-Regulation and Well-Being, Demonstrating Literacy and Mathematics Behaviours as well as Problem Solving and Innovating.
Children will learn in a stimulating environment that recognizes that children learn at their own pace. The Kindergarten program emphasizes play-based learning as it provides many opportunities for children to ask questions, investigate, solve problems and socialize with their classmates. Through inquiry based learning, children are able to explore, engage in critical thinking and express their creativity through the various activities set up by the educators.
We help spark confidence
We look for ways to help children practice their natural abilities for being kind, caring, curious.
- Asking for that they need with kindness
- Feeling joy in being curious for learning about the world around them
- Practicing patience when things feel difficult or confusing so they can slow down to do great work rather then rushing through their work
